So, this Saturday, I took a shot at a clean comedy competition! 🎤😅 I know I've mentioned before how I don't mind edgy jokes, but recently, some comedy shows I've been to have been a bit too much with school shooting jokes, abortion jokes, and other really dark stuff. 😬 It made me wonder if I was in the right scene.
Then, I heard about this clean comedy competition in Bellbrook, Ohio, thanks to the Dayton Comedy and Cincinnati Comedy Facebook pages. Shoutout to Kevin Rupert from Bricky's Comedy Club for the heads up! 🙌
I was super excited and immediately signed up. The event was from 4 to 6 PM, and I'd never been to Bellbrook before. It's near Dayton and Miami, if you're wondering. 🚗💨
The drive was beautiful, and I spent the entire time rehearsing my routine—probably went over it like 50 times! I like to be prepared because if I don't, I tend to forget parts of my act and that's just embarrassing. 😅
Finally, I arrived, and my GPS took me to a park. Turns out, it was an outdoor show! 🌳🎤 I was a bit surprised but rolled with it. They were setting up microphones and speakers under a gazebo (or "gazebo" as some might say 😆).
