Sad to hear the news that legendary broadcaster Phil Donahue has passed away. 🌟 Phil started his groundbreaking show in Dayton, Ohio, and I used to work at WDTN where it was recorded. His old office was a special place; I even practiced my standup comedy routine there! 🎤
When I made videos for my alumni at East Tennessee State University, I named my productions "Donahue's Office" in tribute to him. Phil was a true trailblazer in the world of interviews, bringing a new depth and realness to the format. If you ever saw him on Letterman, you know how fantastic he was. 📺
Fun fact: as a kid, I thought my neighbor was Phil Donahue because they looked so much alike! 😂 Phil was married to Marlo Thomas, the star of "That Girl."
